Prayer Rugs

There are some religions which propose use of prayer rugs while praying in church or home. Originally, Christianity did not mean for a prayer rug because prayer was not obligatory to be said on one's knees. Many Christians still kneel on special occasions only while others make every prayer on their knees.

This is not the same with the Muslim religion where a prayer rug is used for every of 5 daily prayers. Today, prayer rugs are used to comfort long stands on the knees, especially, during the sermons. Basically, prayer rugs are unpretentious, designed to help concentrating and to be least distracting.

Because of the fact that they should be carried in a bad or purse they should not exceed necessary size. Prayer rugs are usually soft medium-thick rugs, dyed in reserved tones, sized of a small pillow. But there are a variety of colours and yarn or fabric to choose from. Some prayer rugs can have a slight ornament pattern or more than one colour.

Prayer rugs are easy to clean. You can carry it in your bag to any place, be it your local church or working place, to be at hand whenever you might need it.
